Here are a few suggestions to help make your time at the 4-H Children's Gardens truly special.

• Be curious and wonder about everything.
• Take lots of pictures.
• Take time to touch and smell the flowers.
• Use our scavenger hunt to explore the 4-H Children's Garden.
• Have lots of fun!

We have few signs in the garden. Baiscally you will find two types of signs:

• Plant names: We try to show the names of all the important characters in our garden - the plants. In the 4-H Children's Gardens you will only find the common plant names. If yoiu want scientific names you will have to ask us.
• Theme area plaques: Each theme are will have a plaque with the name of the area, the donor and a message from that donor.
• QR codes: You will find a few QR code labels in the garden. These can be used with a smart phone or you can contact us about using our iPod Touches to read the codes.

Outdoors
There is a porta-potty located between the 4-H Children's Garden and the Pete & Sally Smith Schoolyard Demonstration Garden. This is available from early April through October.

Inside the Plant & Soil Sciences Building
There are restrooms available between 8am and 5pm every day. Enter the building through the south entrance, under the teal awning, and follow the blue line on the floor.

Beal Botanic Garden

Beal Botanic Garden is on the north part of campus, near the library. It is the longest continuously operating botanic garden at a university in the US! Here you will find plants arranged by families. It is interesting to learn a bit about what plants are related to others.

MSU Dairy Store

The MSU Dairy Store has some of the best ice cream you have ever tasted! If you have never had MSU Dairy Store ice cream you have to get some. If you have tasted it before it is time to go back!

MSU Museum

Founded in 1857, the Michigan State University Museum was one of the first museums on a college campus in the Midwest. The Michigan State University Museum is the natural science and culture museum at MSU and Michigan's first Smithsonian Institution affiliate. The MSU Museum features three floors of special collections and changing exhibits year-round.
